INTERVIEW WITH BINETA DIEDHIOU

 

Conoce un poco más a la reciente deportista que entrenara con Jesús Ramal y el equipo Técnico de la Han kuk International School en el proyecto olímpico de Rio 2016

Learn a little bit more about the athlete who has recently made a sports agreement with Jesus Ramal as her Coach and the Hankuk International School. 

 

 

Bineta Diedhiou comenzó a entrenar en el año 1991 bajo la tutela de su padre en la ciudad de Dakar (Senegal), en sus logros deportivos destacan 2 veces olímpica (Beijing 2008 y Londres 2012), campeona de Africa, Campeona Mundial de Taekwondo Francófono, Medalla de Bronce en el Campeonato del Mundo , actualmente ocupa el 6 lugar del ranking de la WTF (World Taekwondo Federation) y varias medallas en distintos eventos de Clase A.

 

Bineta Diedhiou started training taekwondo in the year 1991 with her father in the city Dakar in Senegal. Some of her best taekwondo results are: 2 times Olympian in Beijing 2008 and London 2012, African Champion, World Francofano Champion, Bronze medal in the World Championships, currently number 6 on the WTF ranking (World Taekwondo Federation) and several A Class tournament medals.

 

HK:  ¿Porque te iniciaste en la practica del taekwondo?.

HK: Why did you start practicing taekwondo? 

 

“Me inicie en el Taekwondo porque toda mi familia se dedicaba a ello, toda mi familia es cinturón negro y viven el Taekwondo con mucha pasión e intensidad”.

 

“I started practicing Taekwondo because my whole family practiced taekwondo, everyone in my family has a black belt and they live taekwondo with a lot of passion and intensity.”

HK: ¿Cuando comenzaste a competir a nivel nacional e internacional?

HK: When did you start competing at a national and international level?

 

“Mi primer campeonato fue en 1997 en Senegal y debute de forma internacional en el Campeonato del Mundo en Grecia en el 2002”.

 

“My first competition was in 1997 in Senegal and I debuted in an international competition in the Junior World Championships in Greece in 2002.”

HK: ¿Cuales han sido para ti tus mejores momentos en el Taekwondo?

HK: Which moments have been the best moments of your taekwondo career?

 

“Mis mejores momentos son dos; el primero cuando conseguí la medalla del bronce en el Campeonato del Mundo del 2005 que se celebro aquí en Madrid  siendo  la primera medalla mundial de Taekwondo para mi país y el segundo momento más emocionante fue mi clasificación para los Juegos Olímpicos del 2008 en Beijing siendo así la única olímpica de Taekwondo de Senegal  y que todavía sigo siendo, en esas olimpiadas tuve el honor de ser la portadora de la Bandera de mi país en la ceremonia inaugural de los juegos olímpicos”

“I have two best moments; the first when I won a bronze medal in the Senior World Championships in 2005 in Madrid, it was the first World Championship medal ever for Senegal and the second best moment was when I classified for the 2008 Olympic Games being the first taekwondo athlete to classify ever for the Olympics representing Senegal, and still today I am the only taekwondo Olympian, I was chosen to be the Flag Bearer in the 2008 Beijing Olympics which was a huge honour.”

 

 

 

HK: ¿Que perspectivas tienes ahora?

HK: What plans do you have for the future now?

 

“Ahora solo pienso en el futuro con mi nuevo equipo de trabajo, con mis nuevas compañeras de entrenamiento y tengo mucha confianza en mi nuevo entrenador Jesús Ramal y el equipo de trabajo del Han kuk International School, vamos a trabajar paso a paso para llegar en las mejores condiciones posibles a los preolimpicos clasificatorios  y las olimpiadas de Rio 2016, mi único objetivo es Rio”.

 

“Right now all I am thinking about is my future with my new technical team, with my new team mates and I have a lot of confidense in my new coach Jesus Ramal and the whole technical team of the Hankuk International School. We will work step by step to make it to the Preolympics in the best possible conditions to classify for the Olympics. My only goal is Rio 2016.”

HK: ¿Como te sientes ocupando el 6º lugar en el ranking mundial de Taekwondo?

 

HK: How do you feel being ranked number 6 in the World Ranking?

“Me siento muy bien de ser la 6º clasificada en el ranking de la WTF (World Taekwondo Federation) pero aspiro a ir subiendo cada vez más en el ranking”

 

“I feel really good to be the number 6 in the world, but little by little I aspire to keep rising higher and higher in the Ranking.”

 

HK: ¿Que sientes con tu nuevo equipo de trabajo?

HK: How do you feel with your new technical team?

“Con este nuevo equipo siento que todo es muy positivo y me van a ayudar a conseguir mis objetivos.”

 

“I feel very positive with this new team, they will help me achieve my goals.”

 

 

al finalizar la entrevista, Bineta añadió con emoción.

 

After finishing the interview Bineta added:

 

“Quiero brindar a mi país   la primera medalla olímpica femenina de la historia de Senegal”.

“I want to achieve for my country the first ever female Olympic Medal.”
